When I listen to the question and answer from the audio of the press conference, look at Trout's supposed response which apparently has been taken down and no longer available, and look at the PM posts in reaction, I think BO's comments are being misrepresented. Gabe, could you please present a word-for-word transcript of:
- the pertinent question that was posed, so as to put BO's response in context
- BO's response
- the response that can be directly attributed to Trout
- a question which referenced Trout as an example of a player who was offered early, didn't commit, went through the full recruiting process, put out feelers to MU to see if the initial offer was still commitable, and was told it was not
- an answer that never mentioned Trout specifically by name nor cited specifics peculiar to Trout's situation, and explained that an offer is good under the circumstances that it is extended, and may or may not be good at a later date when other players in general and other players at the same position have commited/signed, due to squad composition models and NCAA limits.
- I have yet to see Trout's actual response, but it appears that he never listened to the actual audio but took someone else's word for it and responded based on that misinformation
- Many PM posters haven't listened to the actual audio and are stating info as fact which is not.
