Maybe lets steer the narrative a bit.
Instead of the MM rumor-express and lack of excuses for lock this weekend, what would make locks first start a success?
I'm not sure a win is necessary to consider the game productive for the program. If lock completes 55-60% of his passes, targets some te, some rbs, and maybe even throws a pass between the hash marks (no pun intended) i think the offense will be improved with a chance to score some points.
It would also be nice to see lock complete passes to 6 or more receivers. Both mm and jf liked to limit their intended targets, which made the offense easier to stifle if you have an answer for those guys. If brown, moore, leftwhich, reese, hunt, and blair all have receptions, i bet our odds of winning increase.
Sounds like a strange thing to nitpick, but id like to see locks handoffs improved. Is it just me, or do they look awkward and slow at times?
Lastly, if they score 24 points, even in a losing effort, ill start designing my drew lock hood ornament shortly after the game.
