I had heard this team was going to be playing more bump and run. More blitzing. More stunting. I saw a straight vanilla defense. Zone coverage. No twisting or stunting by the D lineman. Corners STILL playing 7 to 8 yes off the ball on 3rd and short. Much of what we complained about for years Cross had them doing all last night. Every aspect of the defense looked worse. I know it's early but man you can't leave 3 linebackers on the field the entire game and have them covering slot receivers all day... Especially when you can't even sniff the QB. Lose at least 1 lb and put a cover guy in there. We played way too passive imo.
What happened to our man coverage we were supposed to be doing this year?
