What if the basketball team completely abandoned the 3 point shot?

I am being serious. They are horrendous at shooting the three. I am not sure how many attempts from three point range they take a game but lets say 20 and at 27 percent - that would come to five 3 balls a game which would equal 15 points. Now, take those same 20 shots and make them closer two point shots. At a robust 44 percent - that would come to 9 made two pointers and 18 points. Three points doesn't seem a lot but I'll take three extra points per game every time. Would have made the Illinois game slightly less anxiety filled. Cuonzo needs to seriously consider this.
