I'm not sure what's going on with Ramey but I'm not as confident in him signing with Mizzou as I was when HCCM offered. He's genuinely interested in Mizzou and I'm not saying he ain't coming but I'm just less confident right now. I may be wrong but I'm not sure McKinney could commit today if he wanted to. There's still questions about what kind of player he is and how he projects at the next level. He should kill it on the summer circuit because it's pickup ball with little to no defense being played and that will send the coaches back in a frenzy. But personally I'm not a high on him as others are. But I've been wrong quite a few times in my lifetime. In the 2019 class, if we can pull Leech, Hargrove and Liddell that'll be a homerun and that's who I'm hoping for.
As far as the 2020 kids, I absolutely love that group of kids. It's a little perimeter heavy with Fletcher, Love, Nesbitt, Kasubke, Schwepker, Kobe Clark and Harrison Vickers out of Chaminade. With Bradford moving to Arizona, that pretty much leaves Ryan Kalkbrenner as the only legit big right now. I read the article today about Rashad McDaniel recruitment and I'm of the opinion that he should go back to football because his body is getting a little heavy to be an effective 5'9 point guard. Would be a great rb if he concentrated on football.
Now here comes the controversy. Folks are always wondering why Mizzou can't get the local kids from the city or North County on a consistent basis, well I'm here to tell you. The whole culture of Boone County on and off campus have helped develop a perception that kids need to look at or consider other schools. With that being said, every parent, coach or kid that has visited Mizzou lately are genuinely excited about the program. 5 or 6 people used the same word and that word was culture. HCBO has evidently hit it out the ballpark with the staff he has assembled because they all coming back raving about the program. I'm not sure if they'll get every kid but I promise you guys that the parents, coaches and players all were very surprised and excited about HCBO and staff. Yes I know that black kids have been successful at Mizzou and this is a bullshit narrative, but I'm telling you guys it's different.
