I had hopes & dreams of a 10-2 season just like everyone else.
But why?
Our recruiting class has been 13th in the SEC and 40th overall for four straight years. That means almost every team we play has players that are as good or better as our players.
The other team has coaches and players who spend the week doing nothing but devising a game plan on how to beat us.
We have coaches who are determined to establish the run and seem lost when we can’t do it. It seems we’re easy to game plan against. It’s going to be a run on 1st down and usually 2nd down as well. And we may or may not have a QB that can pass the ball accurately; why not make him beat you.
Our defense waits for the other team to make mistakes and when that doesn’t happen we seem pretty average.
The problem is me. There is no reason for me to believe we should be beating teams easily or at all.
I should be grateful for every game that’s a win or at least competitive in the 4th qtr. I shouldn’t let myself get caught up in the 10-2 crap. I need to be hoping for 6 wins and be happy for anything above that.
That all said, my Saturday was just ruined and now it’s carrying over to Sunday.
