like the Kansas job. Try and remove the hate for kansas here...but say you are an aspiring college coach. Why take that job? They have horrible fan support currently, abysmal recruiting, below average facilities, play in an inferior conference, and have a poor recruiting base even

Seems the options are:
1) The coach already knows they are in over their head, says 3 years at a million per year and then I'm out of coaching.
-I couldn't do this for the public shaming that would follow you forever

2) They are so bad, and half of the conference is so bad that I can maybe win 3 games an parlay that into a job at a different school
-seems this type of coach could get a different job...maybe the market is so small I underestimate obtaining a D1 head coaching job

3) Alumnus of school...former player etc
-pretty easy thought to try and get your alma mater up to snuff - even if lost cause

4) Family in area? (sort of like...cough.....Harbaugh was gonna take the KU job since his wife's family was from St. Joe?)

5) other options?

What else? Was talking about this to a buddy and undoubtedly someone will always want jobs like this....just what's the thought process? How did we get Pinkel to come here? I don't recall circumstances...
