After 3 1/2 minutes into the 1st quarter Mizzou had already had and given up the ball twice on two 3-and-outs. I almost could have predicted that at that point I knew the D would be toast, aside from what looked like some disinterest from some guys in the game. LSU has the ball for over 22 minutes in the first half. I know the hurry up is the identity of this offense, but after watching them methodically pick our defense apart possession after possession you have to slow it down, unless of course you are way behind and have to catch up. Even in the Daniel years they never tried to move it this fast. They would sort of play it like a black jack game... Do 2 or 3 plays at an ok pace and if they some success they stepped on the gas. More than anything they changed up the plays between pass and run and kept the defenses honest. I know this team is young, but I feel like they had enough evidence after the 1st quarter of how the game would go and never put our guys in a position to succeed. In the end to me you could for sure see the talent gap a bit... IDK, just what I saw... Reminded me a lot of last year.
