Honest question, who can we hire in December that would definitively be better than Barry?
If you say Matt Campbell you’re outside your mind. He’s being mentioned as Urban’s replacement. The time to hire him was three years ago.
We’re probably talking coordinators at big schools (maybe Alex Grinch) or a successful up and comer at a lesser program (my preference).
Obviously we CAN hire someone better, but I’m not 100% certain we can or will.
Barry’s recruiting is trending in the right direction and he’ll likely make a bowl in 2 of his first three seasons as a HC in the toughest conference in CFB. Do you think we can find someone who’d accomplish the same or better?
The other variable that no one seems to want to talk about is Drew Lock isn’t really that good. Talent, sure. But when it comes to winning football games the results speak for themselves.
