Last night when Washington had the ball and ran on 3rd down with about fifty seconds left, their running back got hurt. The clock then went down to around 45 seconds left until the official called an injury timeout.
When they came out to punt on 4th down, the clock had 0:50 put on it and there was no running clock.
I know an injury timeout stops the clock for the time being, but why would it not be a running clock when the play resumed for the punt on fourth down?
I know Texas didn't end up winning, but instead of having around 10 seconds left to work with they had 45-50 seconds which almost bit Washington in the ass.
