When the SEC expanded, I predicted aTm would be the biggest winner of all. I can't figure out why they can't get to the next level.
A long time ago someone in Texas planted a flag in Austin and said, "this is where the best Texans will play football." A&M, SMU, TCU, etc, all said, "uh, ok. We'll just take the leftovers, if that's ok with you, Mr. Texas."
Now that A&M is out of the Longhorn shadow, I figured they would be a top destination, equal to Texas for talent. The SEC figured to be a huge draw, something not available in Austin. Here we are, five years later, and they are spinning their wheels.
They have everything they need to win national championships: Money, big stadium, rabid fan support, uhh.... money, a giant city nearby, and money. So far, it isn't happening.
Every school loves to think that John Gruden or Chip Kelley is on their hotboard, but it's a farce. For A&M, they SHOULD get a coach like that.
