But why Mizzou? Why did you start rooting for them, and why you continued throughout the year, especially with the bad?
I had a Kansas Community College trust fund fan (from Mid MO) ask me this the other day. Clearly, it would've been so easy to watch the bottom line and pick the Beakers because they were ranked top 5, or go for another blue blood because they were popular.
Personally, I chose Mizzou because my stepdad used to watch them, and after he passed, I couldn't stop thinking about him watching them while drinking a Budweiser. I saw a lot of heartbreak and yelling at the television. But I'll say this, when it's good, it's great. I first started playing competitively when Rush and the Tigers were having success.
