Many of us agree they seldom work. So that makes me wonder why we keep doing them? Many teams use them.
I understand maybe our receivers aren't blocking effectively, but they keep calling them.
Are the coaches trying to set up something else later in the game? Is it an effort to create more space over the middle of the field (or on opposite side of the field) later in the game/season?
After running it a few times, I could certainly see the QB faking the WR screen and then going somewhere else with the ball and catching a defense napping.
Or am I overthinking this?
