If we are offered a full membership that is close to what we would make in the SEC, they might....remember how badly we wanted in the Big 10 10 years ago....they might actually get an offer this time and the BOC and others will have to decide would we rather have $3 - 5 mil a year more in the SEC or raise the academic prestige of the university by being designated a research university and be eligible for the research money the Big 10 schools get
I personally think we have more in common with the Big 10 schools and KC and STL would be considered in the mix of hosting Big 10 Championships whereas right now everything is either Atlanta or Birmingham occasionally Nashville but that is as far west the SEC will go...would have a much better chance to excel in football than what the proposed SEC with OU & Texas, would get pretty boring going 7-5 every year vs 9-3 in the Big 10...Big 10 West A pod MU, NU Iowa, ku Big 10 West B pod...WI, IL, MN, Purdue
In the end, I think we stay in the SEC which is fine with me but would not be surprised if Big 10 asks to talk with us that the academic advantages, as they did 10 years ago, carry some weight in the decision
