No. 11 Missouri lost its second straight game tonight with a 64-54 loss at No. 9 South Carolina. It was a physical, up-tempo, fun game to watch, but the Gamecocks executed more, and Missouri couldn't finish.

Fight night in Columbia, as the announcers said multiple times, replaying the fight that broke out in the second quarter. Missouri got a technical foul, and Cunningham and Cliney both got hit with unsportsmanlike fouls. Two players were ejected: Missouri's Jordan Roundtree and Nadia Green, for stepping onto the court. While I don't think the refs made a mistake in the calls, they should have ejected South Carolina's Bianca Jackson. After watching the video, Jackson very clearly stepped onto the court too.

This game IS a rivalry, I can safely say that now. For example, South Carolina fans booed every, single time Sophie Cunningham had the ball.

Cunningham had 18 points, and Jordan Frericks put 10 in for herself. Difference in the game was free throws: South Carolina made 17-24 FT and Missouri only made 3-6.

Missouri's tough stretch continues with No. 2 Mississippi State on Thursday in Mizzou Arena.
