Would you/have you spend/spent $500 on a Watch

I'm talking a good watch. Not a gaudy looking piece of crap.
I'm looking for my birthday gift to myself and figure I could talk the wife into putting up 1/2 (if I take the rest out of my pocket money).

BTW, I've spent +400 plus on my Garmin watches alone, so this isn't a huge leap.
