Mizzou basketball is my first love. I would sob like a 12-year-old girl at a Justin Bieber concert if our Tigers ever won it all.
I bought basketball season tickets knowing I'd only be able to attend 2-3 games at most. I upped my donation to get better seats. I waited an excruciatingly long eight months for November 10th. But, now, I'm checked out. I haven't watched a full game since the refs stole the Florida win from us. Between the piss poor officiating and MPJ's trumpery, my excitement has greatly diminished. To be honest, it's mostly because of MPJ's attention-whoring. I realize he's a 19-year-old, but the family has strong ties to the University and I'd hope he'd respect the fans more than he does.
I no longer build my schedule around the games. If I have time to tune in, I do, but I rarely watch to the end when we're getting our shit pushed in. I'll probably watch our SEC tournament game and I'll check in on the NIT game, no doubt.
Like most, it's highly doubtful I'll renew basketball tickets next season. Not necessarily because my love for our Tigers has lessened, but because, to me, the Porter family is on the rung below Kim Anderson. I don't enjoy being dicked around. Once MPS and Jontay leave after the 2018-2019 season, my enthusiasm for the program will intensify.
What was once elation has turned in to apathy. Blast away. Maybe some of your comments will make me laugh.
