If you come into a successful organization and decide to make changes you better be damn sure you know what you are doing. Mizzou had no worse than the 5th best defense in the country last year. In my mind when you factor in how puss poor our offense was they were the best. So here is the question. Was this change in defensive philosophy Odom or Cross' decision. This was pathetic. You can say people missed tackles. Or there were bad calls. I am sure there are instances of both. The coaches can say the players aren't buying into the system. Well nonsense. If they aren't buying into it it is because it doesn't work for our skill set of players. Earlier in the year people said Cross wouldn't make the decision without Barry Odom's blessing. Well if I was BO I would be denying that right now. This was pathetic and baring a major turn around which seems extremely unlikely Cross should not be back next year. If it was up to me I would have had his locker packed up when he walked off the field. Inexcusable. Once MTSU figured out they could call the same play every time and our coaches would not make a single adjustment to stop it then the game was over. It was likely picking Bo Jackson on Nintendo football and all you had to do was run a sweep because there was a glitch in the game and you would score every time. Well no glitch just incompetence on our coaching staff. Sorry for going so long. Normally have a 24 hour no post rule after games win or lose but this is something I thought after every game.
