Let’s keep this in mind: Barry Odom is the lowest paid head coach in the SEC. The guy who beat Odom today (Stoops) makes over $1 million more per year than Odom. I have long believed that he is probably a decent Xs and Os football coach and a “good guy”. Maybe he is, mayabe he is not. Regardless, it is evident to me that he is in over his head with regard to running this program; the job is (should be) too big for him.

If we want to be competitive, this is not going to cut it. We need to spend more money for a better coach, better stadium, better players, etc. But looking around the stadium today, i just don’t see the commitment from our fans. Lots of empty seats, very little enthusiasm (the Missouri Walz is barely audible) and generally just very little buzz about this program. Not to mention, the recruiting does not look great. I fear that unless Odom pulls a rabbit out of a hat - quickly - or we find someone like Gary Pinkel who has the commitment and discipline to build up the program, even without the financial support/resources of rival schools, we will fall down into a hole that we cannot get out of.

Again, i hope i am wrong. Just being honest.
