Thread titled "Recruits and Missouri"

Here are some of my favorite posts:

Mizzou front-loaded their NIL. The top players receive nearly the entire pot of money and the rest of the class receives very little. Their ‘24 class budget is essentially depleted.

OU has to spread the wealth. Mizzou picks 2 maybe 3 kids and backs up the truck.

They don’t [have more money than OU] but they suck so bad that they deal out larger amounts per player that Venables will never dish out at the risk of fracturing the locker room.

Bigger schools like Oklahoma, Ohio st., Texas, etc. DO have a lot more money than schools like Missouri, or Texas Tech. that being said, the bigger schools have a much more strict policy on who they're giving money to, and how much. This is basically because Oklahoma have 25-30 recruits every year. If we let someone like Nwaneri push us to our absolute financial limit, he'd be making WAY more money than someone who might be just as good, but isn't interested in using us for everything we're worth. If we let Nwaneri do that do us, It would set a narrative that Oklahoma cares more about specific players, than the entirety of the team. Missouri on the other hand, struggles to even get 20 recruits a year, and someone like Nwaneri, will be making a LOT more than everyone else on that team, simply because Missouri doesn't care.

They used a LARGE amount of their NIL for their top in-state recruits. OU offered a lot to Nwaneri…Mizzou topped it and Nwaneri’s mom apparently wanted him to stay in Missouri, so he stayed.

It’s not that they have more money. It’s that they’re not going to pull as many talented guys as big time schools so they don’t have to spread their money out as much as a place like OU. They’ll give burden and Nwaneri a very high percentage of what they have to offer as NIL just between the 2 of them. Like insiders would say about Nwaneri “OU’s playing the NIL game but won’t separate a locker room by how much they pay one kid.” Mizzou doesnt care about that principle. They’ll pay whatever just to have one kid like that

So, in summary, we don't care about cohesiveness in our locker room, we can't properly manage our NIL dollars to spread the wealth and, of course, Nwaneri's mom made his decision. Oh, OU. Y'all are adorable. Never change.
