As I've followed recruiting rankings over the years i've noticed that many of the 4* and 5* recruits (Especially from Saint Louis) are attending strong academic high schools.

I've seen a lot of these kids from Saint Louis commit to strong academic colleges like Notre Dame, Michigan, Stanford (Nate Peat from Columbia), Ohio state, Texas , etc. and not Mizzou.

Mizzou is also prestigious academically, but not on the level of some other places.

It just so happens that many academically strong universities are also fantastic at football.

We seem to always at least be in the mix early and late with the public high school kids, whereas the private school kids tend to commit early elsewhere or eventually not to mizzou in the end.

Do we think there is an academic factor? We seem to almost always look at the football and NIL angle as to why the kids choose to go elsewhere?

***Edited to spell Columbia Missouri correctly so as to represent the city and not the country.****
