Shai Gilgeous-Alexander currently is ranked 2nd in the NBA MVP race, leading the OKC Thunder to 2nd place in the West. He ranks behind Jokic and ahead of Giannis and Luka. He played his collegiate career under Cal at Kentucky, In 2018 he lost at Mizzou Arena, 69-60. It was Mizzou's first win against Kentucky EVER, as they had been 0-11 against them. Mizzou was led by Kassius Robertson and Jordan Barnett, with big contributions from Jontay Porter and Jeremiah Tillman.
Shai finished with 15 points but only made 5 of 16 shots.
I remember this game well, I was there. It felt incredible to beat the longtime nemesis Kentucky, and felt like we had finally "arrived" in the SEC. (Narrator: They had not arrived)

In case you're wondering how we've done recently against other NBA MVP's, MU never played Embiid in his one year at ku (we had just left the Big 12). Luka, Giannis, Jokic never played in college. Mizzou never played against Harden or Westbrook.
You have to go back to November 19, 2006 the last time Mizzou beat a future NBA MVP. MU beat Davidson and a young Steph Curry, 81-75.
