Wishes the best to the 2023 players and the ones who went to combine. Eight players are going to the NFL Combine (a Mizzou record).

Wishes the best to departed coaches and former AD Desiree Reed-Francois. Said they need to lay the foundation for 2024.

Talks about D.C. Corey Batoon's extensive record and said he was impressed with his interview. Batoon will also be the safeties coach, which was expected.

Brian Early has put several defensive linemen in the league.

Mentions they've added an analyst from Hawaii and will add more in the future.

Cayden Green is the first transfer he talks about. Think he has position flexibility but he will begin at LT.

Marcus Carroll, 1st-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection.

Nate Noel over 3,000 yards at App State.

Added JR Blood aka Harold Blood Jr., a transfer QB from Southern. (Brother of WR Daniel Blood)

*Most of his talk about transfers was just about the additions they added and a quick stat about them. Check out the spring camp previews, where I have more on the players and the position.

Spring goals: Spring is about individual player development. Identify strengths and weaknesses of the squad. Define this team.

2 players out to injury S Isaac Thompson and QB Sam Horn. Expects a full recovery for both. Says he expects Horn to still be able to pitch 96 mph or higher and throw TDs when called upon. Not ruling out Horn will NOT play next season.

Horn underwent a full reconstructive surgery.

They won't overextend Brady Cook in spring ball. Hints they may take someone out of the portal.

The team has a sense of urgency after 11-2 season. Says players bought in last year and that has a ripple effect on this current team.

The traits they want to see is the core values: build trust and respect, do more than what's expected, enjoy the journey, and compete harder than ever.

Says the voluntary workout numbers have been incredible. Players are already ahead of the curve as far as doing what they need to do early.

Low ego, high output are the type of guys Brian Early and Corey Batoon are. They are great teachers and they are uniquely them. They're not trying to replace anyone.

Team will still run 4-2-5. Corey will call the game the way he sees it.

Said Batoon will learn the system in place and then add his own flavor and teach the players some of that.

LT and LG are technically up for grabs. But Cayden is almost guaranteed to be LT. Basically, the LG spot is open up to anyone.

Brady hasn't changed since after the Week 3 win over Kansas State. Calls him Mr. Consistent.

No preconceived ideas of who the starting RB is. There's plenty of opportunity for everyone.

Every position is a completion was Drink's answer to whether Blake Craig is the unquestioned starting kicker. He will get first-team reps to start, though.

"Single biggest loss is the leadership." The team lost 5 of 6 team captains from a year ago. But there is plenty of positives, though. There are tons of leaders on the team and it's their opportunity to step up and grab those leadership roles.

The challenge for WR is competition vs complacency. One-on-ones vs CB room is going to be a decent matchup.

Dreyden Norwood is ahead of everyone else in the race for a starting CB spot.

Ja'Marion Wayne will be with the corners this spring.

Credits CB coach Al Pogue with some develop

Jokes and says how Mizzou's offense isn't a top-10 offense in the new NCAA game. He said it's important to be able to market the brand. He thinks the game is a great game for college sports.

Drink said he had a great relationship with DRF to advance the athletic department and the football program. Won't be a challenge to have a new person come in. It'll be an opportunity.

He hopes it's not about him and that it's about building Mizzou as a premier school for college athletes. He wants to raise the standard of the school in all sports.

They have to get better. Starts with football team. No one is patting themselves on the bat for losing only two games.

Excited to have OC Kirby Moore back after there were rumors he'd go to Alabama.

Talks about how well he stepped in but now its about improving and blocking out the noise.
