Gates has the NCAAT win and a top 5 recruiting class, but McMahon improved from Year 1 to 2 with a more traditional trajectory of improvement (and also has a decent class). And Gates obviously the embarrassment of 0-18.
Mizzou considered both before hiring Gates. Who would you rather have moving forward?
