Transfer portal slowing down, no real offseason story lines right now, I was bored and had this conversation with other Mizzou fans in how they would like to see a 12 game schedule look if they were without a conference. It kind of stemmed from a conversation about if/when the P5 completely breaks away, what would be the best Mizzou fan friendly ticket package/group of games to watch in a season. Would you want a more modern schedule with SEC heavy opponents, or more of a traditional rivals from Big 8 mix of games?
I think my schedule would look something like this:
illini in STL (I miss this game)
rotation game of Colorado/Iowa St/Kansas St/Oklahoma St
SEC East Opponent
SEC East Opponent
Nebraska
P5 Opponent/ND
P5 Opponent/ND
Oklahoma
P5 Texas School
SEC Opponent (East or West)
Arkansas
kansas in KC (I do like this one on campus as well, but nothing will ever beat the potential of a packed Arrowhead meaningful game)
I really do hope when they break away that it becomes a 12 game all P5 schedule with the expanded playoff. The schedule would be a gauntlet but would be extremely entertaining.
