-Gates said the crowd was unbelievable tonight, said it meant something that they could hear them celebrate their last basket. He said as teams go through adversity, it can feel like they're alone. The fans let them know that they're not. He said he felt like they fought in the first half. He said they tried to fight in the second half but were out of gas.

-Gates said he gives credit to MSU for stripping Mizzou in traffic - 20 of their turnovers were from 15 steals for the Bulldogs. He said he was glad they were able to limit MSU to just 14 points off the turnovers.

-Nick Honor said the difference in the second half was that when MSU hit first, they didn't hit back. He said they gave up too many second-chance points and and-1s and deflated the team.

-Gates said his guys have not complained about their circumstances. He said the most important thing is that these guys have to get better each day. They've asked questions about ways they can improve in practice. He said he's proud that they've continued to be eager to learn.

-Honor one thing he likes about this team is that, even though they're struggling, there's no cliques. The players are still very much all together.

-Gates said he thinks MSU physically challenged Tamar Bates, which slowed him down tonight. He said there was a moment when Bates drew a foul and screamed in celebration but then missed one of his free throws. He said Bates needed to settle down and channel his energy a little better in moments like that. He said Bates is entitled to an off night, though he wished it wasn't tonight. He said that without Sean East, there were certain statistical benchmarks that they needed Bates and Honor to get to. Bates and Honor missed it, combining to go 6-21 from the field and committing 10 turnovers.
