-Gates said Mizzou getting to the free throw line tempered Mizzou's momentum. He liked that his team got to the free throw line and had a positive assist-to-turnover ratio. But Ole Miss beat them to the loose balls tonight.

-Gates said the Rebels' ability to get to the free throw line 30 times and score while the clock was stopped helped them get back into the game. Gates was asked what his team needed to change to avoid giving up that many free throws: "I need to have a whistle and not call the fouls."

-East said Mizzou's decision to score inside and shoot a low number of 3s was the result of both Mizzou's game plan and what Ole Miss was showing defensively. He said the team's been working hard on attack downhill and finishing strong at the rim. But the Rebels were also closing out hard on their outside looks.

-Gates said he thought Jordan Butler grew up today, coming out with 10 points and four rebounds battling Moussa Cisse and Jamarion Sharp. He said he thought Ole Miss had to change its game plan because of him. He said they wouldn't have been in the game without him and Aidan Shaw.
