-Matthew Murrell said he felt like the biggest difference between the first and second halves were their intensity.

-Chris Beard said he think Sean East is one of the best players in college basketball. He said they had some game plan focuses on him, but it "didn't look like it tonight." Said he's a three-level scorer who's very efficient. He said "What year is he?" I said "He's a graduate senior." Beard says "Thank God."

-Beard said he's watched each of Mizzou's games this season and their ability fight always stands out. He thinks that's a sign of the culture being built here, that there's no quit.

-Gates said he thought the crowd tonight was tremendous and appreciates their consistency.

-Gates said they stopped by Dickey Nutt's hotel room while he's in town for his second round of chemo this week. He said Coach Nutt is in great spirits.

-Gates said their energy was impacted by Ole Miss' defense in the first half. Said they regrouped in the second half and got the effort out of the players he needed. Said he likes the fact that his guys aren't putting their heads down. He wishes the results were different but he thinks something greater's happening because of the adversity they're going through.

-Sean East said Ole Miss made a few good adjustments that caught them off guard, like sealing them off of driving lanes on the baseline. Said they made adjustments in the second half.

-Gates said that closing lineup executed their game plan really, really well and fed off of each other's energy. Said they also did better job of taking care of the ball - Ole Miss scored a ton of points off turnovers tonight.

-Gates said Aidan Shaw didn't know he was starting tonight until four minutes before the game. Said he liked that Shaw came away with nine rebounds and that he gave them some length and quickness on the defensive end.

-East said he was able to exploit the mismatches he got against Ole Miss, backing down their smaller guards in the post. They also realized the Rebels were trapping on ball screens and were much more aware of when they were coming in the second half, which helped him stay in rhythm.

-Gates thinks East shoot has the highest 2-point field goal percentage among guards in the country. He's able to convert on a number of different looks at so many different angles. Said he's sure East's upset about his four turnovers but he was important tonight.

-East said he wants a packed house for Senior Night. He said they're gonna play their hearts out. He's not thinking about legacy just yet, he's just focused on getting a win in the next game.
