-Rick Barnes said he's not sure what everybody else thought but this was the Mizzou team they expected tonight - "they didn't do anything we didn't talk about." He said they went to bigger lineups in the second half and thought their post players, Aidoo and Awaka, made the difference tonight.

-Gates said he thinks Tennessee's an unbelievable team, just very well-rounded and healthy. Said his guys played really, really hard. They knew Dalton Knecht was going to make more shots in the second half but they got discouraged when he hit some tough one.

-Gates agreed with Barnes that Awaka was the spark for the Volunteers tonight. Said he thinks "we're ****ing terrible" at drawing fouls - 'Y'all can write that in there, right? Make sure y'all don't bleep that out."

-Carter said their mindset during those opening minutes was "If we're not going to score, we can't let them score." Said they multiplied the intensity on the defensive end.

-Gates said Knecht has his vote for SEC Player of the Year. Thought his team did a good job defending him, holding him to 6-16 from the field.

-Gates said they'll have an update on Trent Pierce tomorrow but "he's doing good."
