1. Slowish first drive starts for offense and defense

Brady Cook went 0-3 to start that first drive, and then the defense allowed Spencer Rattler to hit Xavier Legette for a gain of 20 and then on third down when they got a stop Joseph Charleston got caught for holding.

Jaylon Carlies had a missed tackle on third and seven in the flat that would've forced a field goal attempt.

Ty'Ron Hopper did have a big tackle on second and 11 that probably would've been a touchdown and on the next play, Joe Moore got a sack, so that play was huge.

Eventually, South Carolina missed its FG attempt from 51 yards out. So, not a bad drive for the defense just a couple of things that weren't ideal, but they finished the drive really strong.

2. Luther Burden III being Luther Burden III

Burden caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Brady Cook on a post route in double coverage. He only had two receptions for 15 yards last week. It didn't take long for him to make his presence felt today.

SC 0, MIZ 7

3. Triston Newson flashing

Newson had a couple of plays during SCAR's second drive where he flashed. He had a tackle for loss and then he had a sack on third down.

4. The offense is picking it up

Cook has thrown a couple of dots by this point with 46 seconds left in the first and on Cody Schrader's 10-yard touchdown, Cook was celebrating the play by walking the opposite way before Schrader scored. He knew almost immediately he scored.

Cook is 6-of-9 for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Schrader has five carries for 22 yards and a touchdown.
SC has 0 rushing yards on 10 carries. It also has three penalties for 20 yards and are 1-of-3 on third down.
