*Let's start with a quick basketball recruiting note. Eastern Kentucky/Georgetown transfer Tre King has been in Columbia the past two days on a visit. He visited Wichita State last weekend and will be at Iowa State this weekend. King is a 6-9 forward who averaged 14.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks at EKU last year. He transferred to Georgetown, but did not play a game. His goal is to enroll somewhere for the second semester and submit a waiver request to the NCAA to play immediately. Because last year doesn't count toward eligibility, King could have the rest of this year and all of next year to play. We are hoping to get in touch with him today after he leaves Columbia and before he gets to Ames. If we do, we'll pass on any information ASAP.

Now on to football recruiting:

***2022 running back target Andrew Paul did confirm with us that he was at Missouri this past weekend for an unofficial visit. When asked what stood out about his time in Columbia, the three-star prospect noted, "the staff, great group of people, and the environment." It's a good sign that the emerging senior would visit Missouri on his own dime and would seem the Tigers are in a good spot right now. Paul's recruiting process is far from over and could push into February as Auburn and Michigan State are two schools that are pushing to get him on campus for official visits.

***Indepedence (Kan.) defensive tackle Jeffrey M'ba released his Top 10 on Wednesday and Missouri made the cut along with Miami (Fla.), USC, Auburn, Houston, NC State, Tennessee, Jackson State, Oklahoma, and Oregon. Admittedly, this recruiting process is all over the place. M'ba had talked highly of Florida and Michigan recently, but neither made the cut. Right now, we don't get a sense that Missouri will get a visit here.

***M'Ba isn't the only JUCO target to include Missouri among their top schools this week. Cornerback target Moses Alexander also included the Tigers among his Top 8 along with SMU, UTSA, Texas Tech, Miss. State, Utah, Houston, and Tennessee. Alexander recently told us that he's got an official visit to Missouri set for December 10th. It seems Utah, Miss. State, and Tennessee are the other schools making a strong push as well.

***Another defensive line prospect that Missouri is showing interest in is Yilanan Ouattara, who hails from Koln, Germany. The 6-foot-7, 270-pounder recently picked up an offer from Vanderbilt and will take an official visit there in December. Illinois is another school expressing interest as well. Ouattara picked up an Ole Miss offer during the summer when he was in the States doing a camp tour with PPI Recruits. I talked to Brandon Collier, who heads up PPI Recruits, he had this to say about Ouattara and his game:

"He’s special, 6’7" 270-pounds, runs 4.7. If he played in the USA he would be a top 50 player in this class. He’s a future NFL kid and that’s what coaches love about him."

***Riverwood (Ga.) cornerback target Jaden Harris told our Kansas State earlier this weekthat he will now take an official visit to Missouri on December 10th. He originally had a visit set to Vanderbilt on that date, but that has apparently changed for now. The three-star will visit K-State this weekend and Miami is set to get an official visit on December 3rd. Maryland and Vanderbilt are other schools that are in consideration as well.

***4-star OL target Deone Walker took an official visit to Missouri back on the weekend of October 15th. While we thought it was more of a Kentucky, Missouri battle for Walker, Georgia has now entered the picture. He will take an official visit with the Bulldogs this weekend and obviously that can be a game-changer.

***Woodward Academy (Ga.) defensive back Christian Harrison released his Top 3 earlier this week which included Florida, Nebraska, and Tennessee. Missouri extended an offer to him recently.

***The big name visitor this week is IMG 2023 prospect Samuel M'Pemba. He recently named a top five and Missouri wasn't in it. It seemed the Tigers had no shot until the last few weeks when he has consistently tweeted about Mizzou. Not sure if the renewed interest will delay a decision that was anticipated to come in December or not. We'll do our best to get some information after the trip.

***Brett Norfleet will also be in town for the game. He has made multiple trips to Columbia. There's a feeling that Missouri is the leader even with increased interest from programs across the country in recent weeks. We wouldn't rule out an early commitment from the 2023 tight end, although we don't really expect it to be this weekend.

***Other than that, we're not really expecting any big names in town. It's kind of cold, the crowd is going to be questionable, a lot of players are in the playoffs and the coaches have their minds on winning the game and getting bowl eligible. There will likely be some of the current 2022 commitments in town, but other than that, the visits are going to be loaded on the two weekends in December prior to the early signing period. The Chamber will be off next week the day after Thanksgiving with Mizzou playing Arkansas on Friday, but will return in two weeks and should be loaded with visit news for the weekends of December 4th and 11th.
