This thread is not really about when life starts and the rest of the lunacy.
Rather, it’s about the GOP and their unbelievably stupid strategy on the issue.
Over 60% of American’s think abortion should be legal in some fashion. This issue also brings young people out in force, which heavily favors the Democrats. Yes, it’s legal in many states, but that’s not the issue. Supporters think it should be legal nation wide. In my humble opinion, it just cost the GOP in the midterms. And, I think it will carry over to 2024.
If all you Republicans want to win future swing elections, something needs to change. I’d propose in the HoR a 20 week limit with exceptions for rape and health of mother.
Of course I never expect this to happen because it would piss off a lot of their base.
However, if they could unite and support something like this I think they could dominate future elections.
So what’s more important? A ban in some states (for now) or winning future elections?
