UMass will still be independent for our game this fall. UMass was previously a football only affiliate member in the MAC, during the 2010s. UMass will be leaving the Atlantic 10.
The MAC has had 13 football teams at different points in its history so this doesn't necessarily mean the MAC will look for a 14th. It's been a slow period on the board and realignment is one of my things so I thought I'd throw it out there.
