After many attempts to get Jakore Smith on campus, Missouri welcomed the four-star linebacker Saturday.

Smith, the No. 4 recruit in Arkansas, made his first unofficial visit to see the Tigers for a Junior Day event. He was offered by former co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach D.J. Smith, so a new relationship was formed this past weekend.

"The new linebacker coach, you can tell he wants to be there for real, and it wasn't for the money," Smith said about Derek Nicholson, who joined the Tigers officially Saturday after two seasons at Miami (FL). "He was just excited to be there and excited to answer questions. ... He's going to do some special with the linebackers."
