I'm just gonna leave this here for positive vibes. What's amazing is that as far as I can recall, the only other time Mizzou and ku have met in KC since then was the 1997 Big 12 championship game which did not go very well. Prior to that, the teams met multiple times in the very early 1980s/1970s and especially back when the Big Eight Holiday Tournament was going on. But in the last four decades, Mizzou-ku in KC under any circumstance has been exceedingly rare.
1987 was the mother daddy of them all - top two teams in the league standings, two All-American future top 15 NBA draft picks leading each team, rubber match between the teams, lots of physical altercations and testy scuffles throughout the game, and it ends with a Mizzou game winning shot in the final seconds for the second time that year.
