Braeden Presley joked with Cord Nolan about his Missouri offer. He wasn't knocking on the Tigers; he just wanted a piece of the action.

A few months after being offered by Missouri this past summer, Nolan, now a Texas Tech commit, fielded conversations from Presley about putting in a good word for his Bixby (Okla.) High teammate with the Tigers staff.

"I would always joke with him, be like, 'Hey man, tell Mizzou to call me, give me the O (offer), so we can both have it,'" Presley said. "I guess he did something, since they finally did it."

Missouri offered Presley on March 8, the same day the Tigers hosted their first of two Junior Days amid spring practices. Assistant head coach and cornerbacks coach Al Pogue called Presley after a busy day to pick up on prior conversations.

"For me, I didn't think Mizzou was one of the schools that I'd get," Presley said, "so I was kind of surprised when I did get them. It was a quick turnaround."

Presley impressed Pogue with his length in his 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame. Schools have recruited Presley to play cornerback or safety, but getting to the next level, he'll play whatever gets him on the field.

"I'm aggressive, I can tackle, I can cover," Presley said. "There's not a lot of guys out there in my grade, at least, that can do that, and I'm just a really hard person to find that can do everything that he's looking for."

Presley originally planned to visit Missouri on Thursday, but he didn't make it to Columbia for the first time to see the final spring practice. Interest in the Tigers sparked early for Presley, and although he couldn't pinpoint when it started, he knows a lot about the program, especially about Owasso (Okla.) High product Chris McClellan.

"I really like how their stadium is and how their fans are, and then I just really like the head coach, too," Presley said. "I don't know. It's just something about them that's really good, so I've always been like, 'Man, it would be really cool if I got an offer from them.'"
