Meeting a coach with similar characteristics stood out to Keivay Foster.

The Class of 2026 three-star safety received an in school visit from Missouri assistant head coach and cornerbacks coach Al Pogue on Jan. 22. He also received his second SEC offer of the week.

"He's from down here," Foster said, "so we really talk and act the same."

Traveling through his home state, Pogue stopped by Muscle Shoals (Ala.) High to see Rivals250 four-star edge defender Kamhariyan Johnson, who had canceled an unofficial visit to see the Tigers days before.

Pogue reassured interest from Missouri, while Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee garnered more of Johnson's attention. The staffer also inquired about Foster and Class of 2026 quarterback Kade Clemmons.

"With Keivay getting an offer also, it feels great knowing you can go somewhere else and still play with your teammate," Johnson said in January.

Foster impressed Pogue with his length at 6-foot-4, 182 pounds as well as his ability to track balls in the air and willingness to run down hill to make a stop. The safety totaled 74 tackles, five tackles for loss, six pass breakups, two interceptions and one touchdown his junior season.

Troy has contacted Foster at least once a day. Arkansas, Florida and Mississippi also visited Foster during the NCAA Contact Period in January. He'll make his first to see the Gator on March 29 while planning to visit Missouri next month as well.

"That's a school that I'm going to keep in mind," Foster said of Missouri, "because they actually came and looked at me."
