After Missouri planted its flag at Chicago (Ill.) Mt. Carmel in January, the Tigers drew quality interest from players to visit this spring.
Three-star safety Tavares Harrington was among that group, joining Class of 2027 teammates Quentin Burrell and Roman Igwebuike on his first unofficial visit to Missouri on Saturday.
Harrington, who was offered by offensive line coach Brandon Jones, got to meet defensive coordinator and secondary savant Corey Batoon this weekend. The two talked mostly about the program's history, as Harrington grew up with a liking for the Tigers.
"They were talking about how interested they are in me with recruitment, and they were great people," Harrington said. "Coach Batoon is an amazing coach."
Harrington was excited to take in his visit with his current teammates, hoping to join some of them at the same collegiate program. In regard to that being with the Tigers, Missouri sees the 6-foot-2, 175-pound defensive back fitting its mold for the safety position.
"They were very hyped about (my film)," Harrington said. "I'm their guy. I fit their safeties. A lot of them are tall and came from corner to safety."
Prior to his Missouri visit, Harrington made an unofficial to Louisville on Thursday. He will also visit Kansas State on April 12.
