While training in Atlanta the offseason before his sophomore year, Jaden Upshaw met Luther Burden III.

The two wide receivers worked out three or four times at Anderson Park with coach Derrell Brown. Burden put Missouri in the spotlight for Upshaw, who was just starting to see his recruitment gain momentum.

Although preparing for a different stage in his career, Burden still gave advice on how to handle the next stage in football. He told Upshaw to stay focused on the course and not let social media take over his life.

"One time, he was like, 'Even though you're 6-foot-2, you got to play like you're 5-foot-10 or like you're 6-foot-5,'" Upshaw said. "Just being able to do it all. ... It really just made me feel like I'm on the right track. Just keep my head straight, keep doing what I got to do. Then, hopefully, I'll be there one day: NFL Combine or something."

Upshaw was reminded of those workouts Sunday, when Tigers defensive graduate assistant Bo Els offered the Class of 2027 wideout. Upshaw -- a 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver -- jumped on the Tigers' radar with his size and physicality, as his size showed an advantage against defensive backs his age.

"In my film, they see me pancaking guys left and right," Upshaw said. "I definitely want to improve on yards after catch. I feel like I can make some more moves, get more yards. And I'd say 50-50 balls. I want to make them 80-20. Every time the balls in the air, I want it to be mine."

Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Mississippi and Tennessee make up the schools piquing Upshaw's interest. Upshaw will visit Tennessee on March 11-12 and Alabama on April 4, while looking to add trips to Missouri and Texas A&M.
