sorry for being late:

1. Holidays with family members who are trumpers and never trumpers. It’s brutal. I am not looking forward to it hearing how trump is responsible for everything or he is responsible for nothing. The truth is somewhere in between. Either way, it sucks to be around people who talk about it as adnauseum.

2. My birthday is coming up. Having a birthday between Xmas and New Years blows. When you are young, none of your friends are around for birthday parties, 21st birthday was pretty small. It’s not ideal. Last night, my wife planned a dinner for some of my friends to have at a bar with good food, good beer, and the Chiefs game. It was great. For those out there that suffer the same birthday schedule, I feel your pain.

3. The stock market is tanking. I go by the guide that when the S&P 500 200MDA has a negative slope, it’s the start of bear market. We are there. I am in the processing of liquidating some more. My gold hedge is coming around. Another week of this and I can be back in the green. I expect this to continue for some time. I know that I thought we were starting a melt up, but I think I was wrong. I follow the 200MDA and Trump’s latest moves are pretty bad. There a lot of things that can happen that turn this around: trade deal, Fed slows rate increases, govt funding deal, but I don’t see Trump as one who caves unless he can spin it. I also think Dems want this to continue going into 2020 election, so the only incentive they have to compromise is to do what’s best for the country. Neither side of the isle has ever acted in best interest of the country.

4. C&Eers for mass. You people who show up for only Xmas and Easter mass, yet you save seats and ya regulars gotta stand as a result. Doing that should be a mortal sin. Hide your head in the back you sinners.

5. Great week for Mizzou b-ball. Cuonzo is doing his best coaching job this season. The team is playing great ball and seems to keep getting better. I’m worried about pressing teams, but having a veteran PG helps alleviate that concern.

I hope all the OTers have a Merry Christmas (Hanukkah was over the 10th, hence no mention today). I’ll be eating steak, drinking bourbon, enjoying some time with the family, and hopefully some late night streaking. I’ll be doing a 2018 wrap up next Monday. It should be interesting. 2018 has been a great year. Family better, Business better, Mizzou better, Chiefs better.
