Serology testing on the ship suggest 60% of the 4800 on board have antibodies for C19 and had the disease. (vs the 25% testing positive via swab testing) And most were entirely asymptomatic.
Only one death aboard, among what is surely a predominantly young and very healthy subset of people.
Fatality rate on board was .03%.
Reinforces 3 things to me:
1. Young, healthy people should not be concerned about Covid in the slightest. Schools should open without restrictions this fall, but we know they won’t.
2. WHO comes out today saying asymptomatic spread is “very rare” of which the results on the T.R. completely contradict this assertion.(who do they have working at the WHO?!!... or is it just that models and assumptions in epidemiology are fatally flawed?)
3. What better environment for a study of Covid than a ship at sea with thousands on board and minimal to no outside influences. Although admittedly I’m just presuming they had minimal outside influence.
