1) Please keep the people of SE Louisiana and Mississippi in your prayers. Ida is going to be a bear and she is moving ever so slightly closer to NOLA. Fortunately she is not a grinder, but she is wet and she will leave quite a mess in her wake.
2) Wasn't that Nebraska defeat glorious! Not only did the Nubs throw the game away, but it could be argued (as I did all afternoon with some friends) that Illinois didn't really WIN the game as much as they were gifted the game. Who knew 2 teams could lose in the same game!
3) That said, I was happy for Ryan Walters. It was hot, the Nubs were ready, and hisunit defense looked ready for the challenge. Sure, there were some mistakes, but I am happy for him that his side of the ball represented well. Wish nothing but the best for him (unless we are playing against him).

5) Now that it is almost over, I am ready for Mizzou to hit the field. I am tired of talking it to death and am ready to see what we really have. I will be interested to see if Drink is as much of an offensive genius as we have talked him up to be. I am excited to see at least the birthing of a new defense. And I really want to see if we have the talent we think we have. I picked 8-4 for the season and I stick with it for now... but it's time for the talk to end and the team to hit the field.
