I want to say first that I do not post this fishing for compliments. You guys thank us every time you sign up or read our stuff or let your membership renew (even if the only reason you do it is you forget the date you're supposed to get charged annd can't cancel until it's too late). This isn't about you telling me we do a good job or anything like that.
But I wanted sincerely to thank all of you for spending your time and your money here. There are a lot of options you have for both of them. There are a lot of places you could spend both of them and it is not lost on us that you choose to do it here.
The last week has been the craziest I've covered in a while (and that's saying something at this place). Business wise, it's been the best we've had in a long time and maybe ever. We don't share subscriber numbers, but when I started here 16 1/2 years ago, the number of people that are here now and the things that has allowed me to do, both professionally to help improve the site and personally to do things for my family, was never within my wildest imagination. It is truly humbling that enough of you all think enough of our work to have allowed us to be at this point.
A sincere thanks to @mitchell4d who is much better than I was at 24 and whose presence allows me to do things like cover this remotely from Indiana and still see my son swim and turn pretty much everything that is non-coaching search related over to him while I devote all of my time to that. Same for @Sean_Williams who has been in the background while this is going on but is going to do all of the heavy lifting on recruiting as soon as we have a resolution (which I'm assuming, eventually, is going to happen).
For those of you who have been here all along, some even longer than me, we appreciate you still being here. For those who have come on in the last week, we hope you find it worthwhile to stick around as long as some of the biggest lunatics on the board have.
I've rambled enough, but felt it was something that needed to be said. Now back to your regularly scheduled Mizzou-related insanity.
