So...at first I thought L'Damian's Twitter campaign for a position coaching WR was an inside joke that I wasn't privy to but we're seven months down the line and he's still bring it up...and it needs to stop.
Today he Tweeted a now-deleted question to Gabe's mailbag "Why TF am I not hired yet?" which kind of demonstrates why TF he shouldn't be. Imagine you're a parent wanting to research the coach you'd be trusting to child to, you go to their Twitter account and see "I wonder how many languages can I say, BULLSHIT!!!!" and "Urban Meyer full of more shit than a stopped up toilet!" It's not that I don't agree with those comments, but we can all agree that Mizzou coaches are the face of the program and making those kind of remarks would be inappropriate.
While I appreciate everything Washington did as a player and alum, it doesn't make him immune to some straight talk he needs to hear...
If L'Damian honestly believes he deserves to get hired into a P5 position coach opening making $300k/yr with no prior experience coaching, developing, recruiting or running staff operations, the dude is high off his a**. Being coached by Andy Hill doesn't qualify you to be Andy Hill.
Much like Kim Anderson could have tried to coach D1 hoops anywhere in America to prove his worthiness to coach at Mizzou (if he had, we could have saved ourselves 3 yrs of terrible basketball), Washington isn't attempting to coach anywhere (high school or even D2). He keeps tweeting BO saying he's getting coaching offers that he's turning down which is BS. He's not asking to GA his way into a position coach opening like Kenji Jackson, BO, Jason Ray, ACS (who didn't even go to Mizzou) or Will Franklin, he just wants to sit around and be handed a staff position.
He's too selfish to realize he's putting BO in a weird spot and dude needs to move on with his career and his life if he's serious about coaching P5 football for a living. I admire his loyalty to Mizzou but this is the Show Me State and you don't land positions waiting around for handouts. Venture out and earn it, Day Day.
