Advice on Vegas from those that have been there

Is Uber the best way of getting around? I have to get from the airport to the hotel.....Then I have to get from the hotel to Las Vegas Motorsports Park to the dragway. I checked and no shuttles from the Hotel or Dragway. Rest of the time there I am sure can walk.
