For that type of investment we should have taken over the country, installed our own guy to run the place, then bombed anybody who disagrees with us back to the 7th century. We could have forced Pakistan to back down. One phone call to them threating to back India would have done the trick. At this point we could have had a peaceful country, with US air bases and agreements to share in their mineral resources.
