Just saw the movie, and I thought it was very well done. Certain parts felt a little bit corny (catch phrase here or there, etc.), but the overall movie was incredibly entertaining. The war scenes felt like you were in Iraq. No - I haven't been to Iraq in wartime to know if that's actually how it is.
I would recommend the movie to others. I thought it was better than Lone Survivor. As a point of reference, I had read the book prior to Lone Survivor, but I haven't read Chris Kyle's book.
