Vern Rapp was a beloved minor league manager,from St.Louis. He did well in minor league ball(as in DII). When he was promoted to manager of the 1977 St.Louis Cardinals, he promptly became a disciplinarian. Made Al Hrabosky shave his fu manchu. Al demanded to be traded after season. Ted Simmons promptly grew out his hair in rebellion to Vern. Players stopped responding to Vern. While Vern was a popular,and well respected MAN,as a manager,his players hated him. I hope KA isn't Vern. I just remember my Dad being so excited when Vern got the job,and dejected when he lost his players. Thank God my Dad didn't witness Mizzou bball 2014-15. I see too many similarities between Vern and Kim.
