That would set up one of the most dramatic situations in American history. Trump could not exercise his duties while in prison could he? But what legal statute could set him free...even if it were only during his term? Surely this contingency will gain more traction the closer it gets to inevitability he'll be the nominee. Would the opposition have the votes to immediately impeach and convict him? I doubt the latter regardless the congressional election outcome.
Will supporters mob up and break him out of prison? Will the Gov of GA weigh in on this? Could he appoint loyalists in the FBI then command them to get him out of jail?
Let's say he was allowed to remain free while awaiting appeals... what happens if he loses on appeal? He can't be arrested can he while serving as POTUS? A total shitshow like we've never witnessed.
