At the beginning of this pandemic there were two drug companies that had developed RNA vaccine technology. It is a process that is new and unique. It is a patented process owned by Moderna and by Pfizer and its partner. They sped up research and development of this vaccine at an unheard of pace at the urging of the government. At no point did the US government say “ as soon as you get enough vaccine for our population, we are going to make your proprietary process of manufacture open sourc3 to the world.

Both companies set up to create billions of doses of the vaccine assuming that if the vaccine was successful there would be profit in production. They set up tiered pricing for developed countries and poor countries. They have promised vaccine at affordable prices to non profits that distribute vaccine world wide .

But now the leftists in the Biden Administration have convinced Biden that all patents on this product should be dropped and the technology transferred to friends and enemies alike. China spent lots of effort trying to hack into systems to produce this at both companies. Such technology would have a military application if you chose to developed a virus in say the wuhan lab and develop a vaccine in the rna process . You then Include this vaccine in the Flu shot that you make mandatory for the population. Then disseminate the virus. Sci Fi. Conspiracy? Don’t sell them short.

Regardless the US has always stood for property rights and protection of intellectual property. Not so much with Biden.

Wonder what response pharmaceutical companies will have at the next pandemic?
